But this song comes as an exciting prelude to the series of shows that the band will perform at MSG Sphere in Las Vegas, in the United States, where they will play the album “Achtung Baby” in its entirety.
And the first show is scheduled for this Friday (29).

Larry's Return
Recorded in August last year, the song then features Larry Mullen Jr., marking the band's first recording after the drummer underwent spinal surgery earlier this year.
But although he recovered well, Larry will not be able to participate in the Las Vegas shows.
So in these performances, the founding member of the band will be replaced by the talented Dutch drummer Bram van den Berg, known for his work with the group Krezip.
Exclusive Launch
“Atomic City” was released exclusively in digital format and serves as a tribute to the vibrant city of Las Vegas. So the music will not take on any physical format.
But so far, the track is not associated with any specific album.
An interesting detail then is the list of composers of the song.
In addition to the band members, the writing credit also includes Debbie Harry and Giorgio Moroder, a collaboration that is not surprising but enriches the song.
But the track had already been circulating on the internet for a few weeks, with the clip showing the Irish playing the song on the streets of the city of honor.
But during this period, several images of the performance were widely shared and circulated across the internet.
Some more attentive observers noticed the similarity of the chorus of “Atomic City” with Blondie’s hit “Call Me”, then released in 1980.
So in that sense, it's fair to recognize the influence (and avoid any potential legal issues).
The release of “Atomic City” certainly adds an exciting touch to U2's schedule and further raises anticipation for their memorable Las Vegas shows.
But the band's fans have a lot to look forward to, both with this new track and the legendary performance of “Achtung Baby”.

“Atomic City”
(Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, Larry Mullen Jr., Debbie Harry, Giorgio Moroder)
Come all you stars, falling out of the sky, Come all you angels, forgetting to fly
Come all who feel we're not on our own
All UFOs, come on your way home
Alone, that's no way to be carrying on
C'mon
Are we betting on a future
that's long gone
in luck or in song
You just have to be right one more time than you're wrong
Atomic City (Atomic) 2x
I'm free...
where you are is where I'll be
I'm free...
so unexpectedly
Come all who serve above and below, Come all believers and all who don't know
Come quick, Come soon, come ci come ça
Let me dive into your eyes and blah blah blah
Guitar shaped pool with strings
Etcetera
Sinatra swings
Choir sings
Love is God and God is Love
And if your dreams don't scare you,
they're not big enough
Atomic City (Atomic) 2x
(Atomic sun for everyone… for everyone)
God doesn't play dice
But he likes roulette
The wheel has not stopped spinning yet
I'm free...
where you are is where I'll be
I'm free...
so unexpectedly
I'm free...
I see what's in front of me
And your freedom is contagious
What you've got I wanna be
I'm free..
it took me my whole life
I got the keys to the cages
I'm ready for bright light
I'm free...
I came here for the fight
I'm front row in Las Vegas
And there's a big one on tonight”
